Thonfeld, Germany   One of the interesting Z items offered by Thonfeld is the former East German DR230 E.lok in RTR version (ready to run) or Fertigmodell in German.  The base is Marklin, (possible a 8855) accommodated by the photo-etch shell.  The paint job is o.k., but not 100 % perfect, especially the white strip, I have to repaint the strip but without a satisfactory result as u can see from the pictures :-(   The lack of details of the roof is also a drawback, I need to drill holes and glued the electric components from the spare parts of other Marklin E.lok

If you think u can do a better job than the manufacturer, well, they do offer the kit version(Bausatz), the instruction sheet however is in German.

To go with the DR230, Thonfeld also offer the
DR double deckers either in finished model or kit.  The zug includes a Doppelstockwagen and a Doppelstock-Steuerwagen (w/control cab), and there are also 3 different versions for you to choose : in green, in red/white and in brown/white.

The BR02.0201 offer from Thonfeld is similar to the Green BR18.201 from H.Schmidt, well, did they come from the same maker ?  I have no ideas.  Both are RTR version, but still, I need to apply touch up's here and there to make them looks better and realistic.

Although I do not run the E499 CSD E.Lok in my layout normally, it is an unique item to collect.  Built by photo-etch body and Marklin base, the lok however is without headlight.

Other interesting and cute items offer from Thonfeld are the Wismer Trailer(photo-etch body)  the Wismer is from Westmodel

and the BR76 (Marklin base & body with photo-etch parts modification)
