H.Schmidt   The Mickymouse Lok w/double decker¡@

This is the latest Z model I received from H.Schmidt, frankly, to my little disappointment, the lok is in fact made by resin instead of metal, so it is very light, the base is Marklin with modification in order to fit the shell. The coaches are formed by photo-etch parts which the construction and finishing are quite nice. One thing I would suggest to the manufacturer
is to coat a clear spray on the zug and the lok after applied the decals, so that the decal wouldn't come off during the transportation. Several decals of the one I got were already gone when I opened the packing. Thank god that I have those R41 design dry transfer, so I can fixed the problem in just 2 mins.  The lok however, runs fine with the coaches on my small layout.  H.Schmidt also has another version of this zug; a black Mickymouse Lok w/ DR Green double decker.

Another fun Z article from H.Scmidt is the Ghost wagon the one shown here is a combination of the brass chaise w / FH motor , Marklin body, Marklin coupler with a special connector for hooking up the lok. click here for the details of the special connector

The Ghost wagons are best for pushing or pulling those non-powered lok's such as the Kof, V100, BBII or the E63.  There are 3 versions of the Ghost wagons : the 8752 shown here, the 8605 is the DB Box car and the 8716 which is the DB "Silver Fish" passenger coach.

Another E.lok offer from Schmidt is the E10.  Although I can not take off the metal shell and take a look inside but to my believe it is powered by FH motor.  The lok is quite heavy comparing to the Marklin's and the finishing and running performance is good except, the one I got runs backward when I turn the throttle forward... hmmmm

The BR18
is base on the Marklin 8889 with photo-etch parts modification.
