1:200 scale Airplanes Besides the 1:220 mini-club train, I also collect 1:200 scale airplane as they are close to the Z scale which I can use on the layout and these little airplanes are very delicate.  Most of the 1:200 airplanes I purchased were from HBM models, USA and 2 other makers from U.K.

HBM models' are unfinished resin cast models, most of the products are military jets, WWII fighters with some civil.  The models do not come with prop (propellers) and undercarriage (landing gear).

Mr Ron Crawford from HBM models offer 1:200 Russian and German WWII armor train sets in metal & some marines beside airplanes. He also provides a full set of information for the 1:200 makers around the glob.
For more details, u can contact Ron via e-mail : rlcraw@together.net

Other manufacturers I also pay a lot of respect to their work are: Mr Derek Barratt

Mr Dennis Knight

Here are the pic's of the artwork from Mr Barratt

Mr Barratt's own range - the "Speed in the Air" Series are all finished, with undercarriages & prop as appropriate. An beautiful example is the Supermarine S6B shown above, it comes with a Cert. stating that this model is limited edition which is 200 pcs. A full information sheet of the real airplane is also included. The yellow sheet is the catalogue of his products.
Another cute miniature is the pylon racer GeeBee which also comes with the information sheet and Cert.

The P-51D does not come with any information sheet or Cert. however.

Derek also supply fully finished models from the "Aerocrafts" series; range from Boeing B-26 "Peashooter" to P-51D's, P47's, Spitfire's, FW190's....etc.

The pic's below generally shows the comparison of the 1:200 airplane w/ the 1:220 train models.  These fully finished airplanes are made by Helmet Miniature Aircraft.
Customer has the choice for ordering the airplanes with or without the pilot, props, undercarriage and loading such as tanks, bombs...as appropriate.  You can also specify the color scheme and markings for the finishing. Helmet's range includes WWI Bip's to the most advance F-117A "Stealth"

The Piper J-3 Cub below is a kit which I built from
Norfolk Group
Driftwood
Little Ellingham
Norfolk
R17 1LT, U.K.
The kit comes with decals, but not quite satisfy, especially the black stripes on the fuselage.  I have to paint them instead.  The Cub logo on the rudder is not from the original decal but a picture cut out from a model airplane magazine which fit this 1:200 J-3 Cub very nice.
